Justin Campbell is expected to be ratified as the new Roscommon senior hurling manager next week with Joachim Kelly joining the management team as trainer.

The Galway native, who was a member of the Kiltormer team that won the All-Ireland senior club hurling title in 1992, is a well-respected hurling coach and brings a lot of experience to the table.

Offaly’s Joachim Kelly was involved with Tremane this year and the former Faithful great is also well respected in coaching circles.

With the clubs expected to give the thumbs up to the duo in the coming days before the management is ratified, the appointments of Campbell and Kelly will be seen as very positive in the hurling community. Both men have been involved with a host of teams since they retired from playing.

Campbell of course was part of the Galway team in the 1990s. A productive half-forward, he was noted for his aerial ability and solo runs. Kelly was a highly rated midfielder for Offaly during the 1980s.

A selector is expected to be added to the management team in the near future.
