Glinsk GAA Club has announced that the club is to be “reimbursed” for the damage caused to its pitch over the weekend.

Residents in the tightly knit Glinsk community were angered over the weekend after extensive damage was caused to the local GAA pitch.

The damage occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning when a vehicle was driven onto the local GAA pitch.

The damage had been widely condemned by the community.

However, yesterday afternoon a statement from the club indicated that “the matter has been brought to a satisfactory conclusion. The club will be reimbursed for the damages and we are happy for this to be the end of the matter”.
