A quantity of drugs, with a combined estimated street value of €5,000, were found in Roscommon Town after Gardaí carried out a search of a house last Friday, July 5th in the Racecourse Road area at approximately 4 p.m..

Gardaí carried out the search under the Misuse of Drugs Act and arrested a youth in his late teens. A file on the matter is being prepared for the director of public prosecutions.

Gardaí discovered a quantity of cannabis with an estimated street value of €3,000, MDMA powder, a compound used in the manufacture of ecstasy tablets with an estimated value of €1,700 and cocaine with an estimated street value of €300.

Gardaí believe the drugs were being stored for sale or supply of others.
