The council has granted permission for a community sensory garden and car park at Kiltoom, South Roscommon, subject to a number of condition. It is hoped that the provision of additional car parking places will greatly enhance road safety in the area and that the garden will be of benefit to the entire community.

In April of this year, the Kiltoom Community Development Group applied for planning permission to reclaim lands and provide a community sensory garden and car park complete with public lighting at Ballybay. The application would also involve the relocation of the existing recycling banks.

Roscommon County Council granted permission for the development last week.
