The Roscommon Herald will be vying for the overall media award at next weekend’s Aldi Community Games National Area, Volunteer and Media awards.

The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday evening next in the Mount Wolseley Hotel, County Carlow.

A number of Roscommon areas have been nominated for the Area and Volunteer awards, including Ballaghaderreen who have enjoyed another stellar year on the Community Games front.

“The Roscommon Herald is delighted to be recognised for our coverage of Community Games at this year’s awards. Community Games in County Roscommon continues to thrive, and I want to pay tribute to the county committee, particularly PRO Bernie Ryan, for their efforts to make sure that Community Games gets the publicity it deserves locally,” said Ian Cooney, Sports Editor, Roscommon Herald.

The Roscommon Herald is a previous winner of the overall award for its Community Games coverage.
