Roscommon’s Division Two League prospects have taken a blow with the news that star forward Conor Cox will miss the opening three games at least with a hand injury.

Anthony Cunningham confirmed the news in the aftermath of his side’s 1-14 to 0-11 defeat against Galway in the FBD Connacht Senior Football League final at Dr. Hyde Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Roscommon manager revealed that Cox had a broken bone in his hand and won’t be in contention for the games against Laois, Fermanagh and Clare.

Andrew Glennon picked up a groin injury during the Galway match and will be monitored during the week ahead of Sunday’s league opener against Laois at Dr. Hyde Park.
