There has been a further increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in county Roscommon today (Tuesday) with one new case of the virus confirmed.
This evening’s increase brings the total number of cases of the virus in the county to 308, figures from the Department of Health have revealed. The percentage figure of all cases in the county remains at 1.3% of all cases.
This evening’s figures compare with the 307 cases of the virus last reported in the county. The number of figures for county Leitrim has also increased by two to a total of 82 cases, representing 0.3% of all reported cases nationwide. The county’s number of cases remains the lowest in the country.
Roscommon continues to have the ninth-lowest of all Covid-19 cases in the twenty-six counties, ahead of Kilkenny with 307 cases, Longford with 279 cases which remains unchanged, Laois with 254 (also unchanged), Wexford with 217 cases, an increase of five new cases, Carlow with 149, Waterford with 148 and Sligo with 129 cases, which is also unchanged.
A further 11 people have died from Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland, the Department of Health confirmed this evening (Wednesday). Today’s figure represents a decrease of 5 from the number of deaths recorded yesterday (Tuesday).
A further 64 new cases of the virus were also confirmed this evening (Wednesday). This figure represents an increase of 13 cases from yesterday’s reported case total of 51.
The latest figures bring the death toll in Ireland from Covid-19 to 1,571 (one case has been denotified), with the number of confirmed cases now standing at 24,315.
