A car was detected travelling at 144kms per hour in an 80km zone in Roosky today.
Gardaí from Roscommon Roads Policing Unit were carrying out checks as part of National Slow Down Day today when they found a driver travelling at almost twice the legal speed limit.
The vehicle was stopped and court proceedings are to follow.
