Garda Gerry O’ Rourke of Castlerea Garda District Covid-19 response team called to Kitty Harrington of Frenchpark ICA during the week to collect and deliver scrubs that were made by the ladies of Frenchpark ICA and very kindly donated by them to Roscommon University Hospital.

Frenchpark ICA and a number of other ICA guilds in the county got involved in an initiative called Sew Scrubs for Ireland. At the heart of this initiative was the intention to facilitate all group to help in communities in this very challenging time, supporting our frontline workers by creating a remote community of skilled volunteers, making scrubs for those who need them.
The initiative devised a system to cut the fabric and prepare sets of scrubs, ready to sew with all the necessary information, direct to the doorsteps of volunteers to sew nationwide, to facilitate the production of scrubs from home. These scrubs will then be donated where needed in the community where they have been made.
Frenchpark ICA with other ICA groups in the county took on this entirely voluntary project.

Castlerea Gardai said that they were glad to assist this very worthy cause.
