Today was Cruinniú na nÓg, Ireland’s national day of creativity for young people, and there were plenty of joyous clips and pictures to be seen of the spirit of the day being lived to the full in fields such as art, music, dancing and others.

Earlier today we read about some local Lego fans who created a stop-motion animation, and there was music in the air all across the country this afternoon as RTE Lyric FM featured the Lawlor family from Boyle on their My Creative Life podcast. Liam (10), Lily, (12), Éabha (15) and Matthew (16) featured with Music Generation Roscommon Youth Orchestra under the tuition of accomplished musician Cathal Roche on the podcast, available here.

Then there was the Guckian family who live streamed their Céile through to their grandparents, ensuring that no generation missed out on the fun!

Sean Gilligan was next as he showed off his stylish cap and even more stylish footwork.

Meanwhile the only surprise from this clip of the Noone family in Carrick-on-Shannon is that the dog hasn’t yet been handed a bodhrán or at the very least, a pair of spoons.

And finally, it was a full house but still plenty of room to move in Strokestown, where the Owens family got into the spirit of things.
