Several GAA clubs in Derry, Donegal, Cork and elsewhere have suspended activity in recent weeks following concerns about local cases of Covid-19 within their playing membership. However the prospect of game cancellations coming closer to home got much more real here in the west following this afternoon’s news that an intermediate league game between Balla and Louisburgh won’t go ahead due to medical concerns.

Earlier this afternoon Roscommon manager Anthony Cunningham was joined on Off the Ball’s Saturday panel by fellow county managers Terry Hyland and John Maughan, with Maughan saying that he’s concerned by the current R rate increase and worries that the inter county season might start but not be finished.
