Following a huge online campaign, Danny O’Neill – owner of “The Grind on the N4” – today announced that he will be in a position to resume trading from his coffee cart by the end of next week, following a partnership with Neil Stewart of Stewart’s Oil.
At the end of July, Roscommon County Council removed Danny from his location on the N4, just outside the entrance to Lough Key Forest Park. A huge online campaign was mounted, with nearly 6,000 signatures accumulating on his online petition to reverse the decision of the council.
However Danny was handed a reprieve this week, and is looking forward to get back out there. He told the Roscommon Herald:
“I’m incredibly grateful to Neil, who reached out to help a small business and has given me a great platform. I think my business is set to take off now, and while no income for a few weeks wasn’t ideal, I’m more motivated than ever now”.
“I’ve signed a commercial lease agreement, I’ve my own space to trade and for people to park, and now I just need to get the electricity hooked up. It’s a new forecourt, new station, all recently done up and I’m just delighted to be back in action.
