Éire Óg are Junior A ladies’ football champions after a 3-7 to 1-8 victory against St. Faithleach’s in Ballyforan on Friday evening.

Led by captain Rebecca Madden, Ray Doory’s side eventually overcame a solid Faithleach’s defence to make up for the disappointment of losing last year’s decider.

Anna Creaton, Claire Flanagan and substitute Fiona Crawley grabbed the all-important goals for the winners, while Lauren O’Riordan, who finished with 1-6 over the hour, raised Faithleach’s green flag.

Éire Óg always managed to keep their noses in front and they ended up being worthy champions, despite being pushed all the way by a gallant St. Faithleach’s side.
