Figures released this evening by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) and the Health Service Executive (HSE) show the pattern of the spread of Covid-19 in County Roscommon.
The Boyle Electoral area with a population of 21,831continues to have the highest 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 of population, but the numbers have dropped significantly in the 14 days from November 11th to November 30th. In that period 22 new Covid-19 cases were reported giving the area a 14-day incidence rate of 100.8, above the national average of 87.
The Roscommon Electoral Area with a population of 22,734 recorded just 10 cases in the same 14 day period. The incidence rate for this area is now 44, well below the national average.
The Athlone Electoral Area recorded the lowest number of Covid cases in the 14 day period at just 7. This area has a population of 19,979. Its 14-day incidence rate is now 35, again well welcome the national average.
