St. Brigid’s GAA Club has announced that it has received formal approval from Croke Park to commence development on a major upgrade of its facilities in Kiltoom.
The project includes a new gym and meeting room along with the refurbishment of the club’s dressing rooms, toilets, kitchen areas and repair of the existing hall roof.
“As many of you will be aware, this has been a long and sometimes difficult process but on behalf of our club, I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all of our club members and volunteers who have assisted and worked tirelessly over the last number of years in reaching this successful conclusion,” said Club Chairperson Michael McDonnell.
Mr McDonnell went on to thank Roscommon Leader Partnership for their professionalism, which he described as “invaluable”. He added that the club was looking forward to working with Leamore Construction Ltd who will complete the development.
“A start date for the construction of the new building will be decided with the building contractor as soon as current restrictions are eased for the construction industry.
“This major development would not have been possible without the overwhelming support our club has received for our fundraising efforts through the Buy A Brick campaign. On completion of these excellent facilities, future generations of club members and our community will reap the benefits of your wonderful and generous support,” he said.
