A Yellow Rain Warning for County Roscommon will come into effect tonight, with Met Éireann warning of heavy rain and possible flooding.

Met Éireann said that between 30 to 50mm of rain might fall in the next 24 hours leading to some river flooding and localised surface flooding. Rainfall is expected to be higher in mountainous regions.

The warning covers Counties Cavan, Monaghan, Clare, Limerick, and the provinces of Connacht and Leinster. It will come into effect tonight at 9 pm and remain in place until 9 pm tomorrow night.

There is also a Yellow Wind Warning for Galway, Mayo, and Sligo, as well as Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Munster, and Donegal, from 9 pm tonight to 6 am Tuesday where southerly winds will reach wind speeds of 50 to 65km/h, with gusts of 90 to 110km/h.

The Road Safety Authority has asked road users to exercise caution.
