Jenny Higgins reached 100 appearances for Roscommon at adult level last season

Another stellar season for Jenny Higgins in Roscommon colours has been rewarded with the midfielder making the LGFA Intermediate Team of the Championship for 2020 on Saturday evening.

Although Roscommon ultimately suffered disappointment against Westmeath at the semi-final stage, Higgins was a colossus in the middle of the field during a campaign that saw victories against Wexford and Offaly before a narrow defeat against the Lake County in the last four at the end of November.

Higgins enjoyed a personal milestone during the campaign, making her 100th adult appearance when Roscommon comfortably saw off Offaly in Kinnegad last October.

Having transferred to Clann na nGael from her native club Western Gaels a few weeks ago, Higgins will, no doubt, be an integral part of new manager Diane O’Hora’s plans as Roscommon target a breakthrough at intermediate level in 2021.

The announcement was made during a virtual awards ceremony on TG4 earlier this evening.
