The Roscommon junior camogie team will have a new manager at the helm for 2021 following the ratification of Frank Browne at Friday evening’s county board meeting.
Browne will take over the reins from Karl Collins, and will be joined by Fiona Connell (selector), Mary Fleming (logistics) and Alannah Kelly (nutritionist). Additional members of the management team will be announced in the coming weeks.
A former manager of the Mayo senior ladies’ football team, Dublin senior camogie team and the Longford senior hurlers, Browne represents a high-profile appointment for a side that haven’t realised their potential during recent league and championship campaigns.
“I am really excited and look forward to getting started. There is a huge cohort of ambitious and dedicated hurling and camogie people in Roscommon and I look forward to working with them. I am assembling a top class backroom team, which will support the team in its ongoing development,” remarked Browne.
Roscommon Camogie Board Chairperson Rebecca Naughton also welcomed the appointment and looked forward to action resuming when current Covid restrictions are lifted.
“Frank and his team will bring huge passion, commitment and knowledge to the team, and we look forward to an exciting year ahead,” she said.
