Cancer Care West has launched a virtual fundraising challenge that encourages employers and their employees to get more active during May.

“Do your Best for Cancer Care West” is a virtual challenge, suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Participants can choose their target, and when and where to do it. It’s a great way to unite employees, especially if they remain working from home.

You can choose to do the May challenge which is to walk or run 5K every day during the month, or alternatively if you’d prefer to choose your own challenge, you can do so.

Operation Transformation Leader Paul Devaney has signed up for the challenge. Paul’s employer has also launched their version of the campaign, asking all employees to get involved by doing the challenge with Paul over the coming weeks.

During the pandemic, Cancer Care West has seen a significant increase in demand for its services. Covid-19 has hugely impacted its fundraising efforts, with Cancer Care West forced to cancel over 90 per cent of its essential annual events. As a result, it has put a huge strain on its finances and the ability to fund its vital services.

By taking on this challenge, not only will you be helping your employees get healthy and fit, but you will also be helping so many cancer sufferers in the west and north-west of Ireland.
