A “barricade incident” at a house in County Roscommon has concluded peacefully, Gardai have confirmed tonight.

Gardai have told the Roscommon Herald that the “barricade incident” occurred in the Knockcroghery this afternoon, Tuesday, June 8th.

A 40-year-old man has been “arrested under the Mental Health Act” and brought to Castlerea Garda Station for assessment.

Local Garda units along with ASU and a Garda negotiator attended at the scene. “Owing to the nature of the incident An Garda Síochána will not be commenting further at this time,” said a Garda spokesperson.
