In good news for the county, the number of Covid-19 tests carried out at the Castlerea Testing Centre appears to be continuing to fall.

According to the HSE, there were a total of 593 tests carried out at the centre last week. Most of these, 509, were ‘walk-ins’ to the drive through testing centre. The remaining 84 were referred.

The week before, May 30th – June 5th, the HSE carried out 707 Covid tests at the Castlerea facility. Of these tests, 553 were walk-in and 154 were referred from their GP. The week before that, 756 tests were carried out.

According to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre’s latest interim 14 day report on cases, between May 20th and June 2nd , there were 58 cases in Roscommon. The 14-day incidence rate was 89.9 per 100,000 of the population. The five day moving average of confirmed cases was three.

Due to the ongoing fallout from the cyber attack, the HSE is continuing to accept walk-ins at its testing facilities.
