New figures released this afternoon have revealed the number of cases of Covid-19 in County Roscommon over the last fortnight.
According to the HPSC’s (Health Protection Surveillance Centre) interim 14-day report, Roscommon recorded 50 cases of the virus between May 26th and June 8th. The county’s five-day moving average of three cases and a 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 population of 77.5, compares to the national average of 113.5
Cases numbers from neighbouring counties during the same timeframe were: Galway, 128; Mayo, 118; Sligo, 6; Leitrim, 6; Offaly, 76; Longford, 18; Westmeath, 125.
Daily case numbers on a county-by-county basis haven’t been available since the cyber attack on the HSE on May 14th.
This evening, it was announced that there were another 398 cases of Covid-19 over the last 24 hours. There are currently 70 in hospital with the virus, of which 23 are in ICU.
