Tributes have been paid to a highly respected businesswoman in Castlerea whose funeral Mass takes place tomorrow.
Mrs Helen Cahill (nee Regan) Main Street, Castlerea and late of Curraghard, Lisacul passed away on Tuesday morning surrounded by her loving family. Mrs Cahill of Cahill’s Supervalu, alongside her late husband Frank set up the well-known store in 1952 and has been an integral part of it ever since. The store is closed today (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday) as a mark of respect.
Predeceased by her husband Frank, her brother Anthony and her sisters Rita, Bea and Winnie. Helen will be sorely missed by her son Anthony, daughters Ann (Fahey, Castleknock), Helen (Salthill) and Breeda (Salthill), grandchildren Cathal, Domhnall, Sinéad, Eoghan, and Ronan, great-grandchildren Cian, Frankie, Luca and Ava Rose, daughter-in-law Angela and son-in-law Pat, brother-in-law Michael (Canada), sisters-in-law Josie Cahill (Brackloon), Mai Cahill (Brackloon & Foxford), Bridie Dempsey (Elphin) and Kathleen Brennan (Warrington), relatives, neighbours, dear friends and those who cared for her, helping to keep Helen at home, Rita and Vanessa.

Helen will be reposing at her home from 5p.m. to 8p.m. on this evening. Removal from her home on Thursday morning to arrive at St. Patrick’s Church, Castlerea for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am. Burial afterward in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. May she rest in peace.
