Areas of County Roscommon are being reminded that dog licences will be checked this month.

Roscommon County Council confirmed that the dog warden has been checking licences in the Monksland and Bealnamulla, and surrounding areas, of South Roscommon since May 2nd.

The fine for an unlicenced dog is €100.

A dog licence can be purchased at the post office or via www.licences.ie. A licence costs €20 or a lifetime licence for €140.
