As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí seized drugs worth in excess of €30,000 and arrested one man in the course of a search operation on Tuesday evening.

On Tuesday evening, Gardaí attached the Galway Divisional Drugs Unit searched a residence in the Milltown area of Galway. Cannabis plants worth €22,000 and a quantity of cannabis herb worth €11,000 were discovered during the search.

A man in his 30’s was arrested at the scene and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 for questioning at the North Western Regional HQ.

He has since been released without charge and a file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
