One of Roscommon’s finest sporting talents is teeing it up with some of the best female golfers in the game this morning.
Olivia Costello is currently taking part in the KPMG Women’s Irish Open at Dromoland Castle. The Convent of Mercy, Roscommon Town, student, who plays out of Roscommon Golf Club, teed off this morning, making par on her opening three holes.
The tournament, which is taking place in Ireland for the first time in ten years, has attracted some of the biggest names in the women’s game, including home favourite Leona Maguire.
It is Olivia’s first European Tour event, and getting an invite to such a prestigious tournament is just recognition for the strides she has made in the game in such a short space of time.
