A grand re-opening of the newly refurbished Moore Hall, complete with a fully integrated working hub and training facility, will be celebrated by the local community last Friday evening.

Moore Parish Hall in Ballydangan, South Roscommon was opened in the Spring of 1951 by Phyllis O’Kelly, the wife of the then President of Ireland, Seán T. O’Kelly.

The significant renovation programme cost more €300,000, a considerable challenge but one that was met with equal vigour. Through a variety of sources including a huge response from the local community and its diaspora, the funding was raised to allow the committee to deliver a very successful facility for the whole community.

The night of celebration will include a host of special guests, including ten members of the original 1974 Moore Community Council.
