Davy Burke

Good Roscommon connections already exist with new Roscommon senior football manager, Davy Burke.

Davy’s home club is Confey in Leixlip, County Kildare and the local GAA pitch is named Creaton Park, in honour of one of its founder members, the late Jimmy Creaton.

A native of Loughglynn inWest Roscommon, Jimmy was the Confey club chairperson in 1990 and 1991.

Jimmy’s brother Eddie still lives in Loughglynn and has another brother Tommy living in Kiltoom. Their sister Kathleen lives in Ballaghaderreen while another sister Patricia lives in Leixlip. Another sister Alice sadly passed away recently in Castlerea.

The discovery of the strong Roscommon connection with Davy’s home club was uncovered by Fr Liam Devine, who wrote about it recently in his weekly column in the Roscommon Herald.

As Fr Liam pointed out, it is indeed a small world.
