The Connacht squad, including Katie Glynn, that will compete in this weekend’s FAI Schools U-15 Girls’ Interprovincial Series.

 

A County Roscommon student will be hoping to make an impression when she lines out for her province in the 2022 FAI Schools U-15 Girls’ Interprovincial Series, which kicks off this afternoon in the AUL Complex, Clonshaugh.

Coláiste Chiaráin student Katie Glynn is part of the Connacht squad that will get their campaign underway against Munster at 5 p.m..

Katie will wear the number 6 jersey for Connacht and will hope to exert an influence on proceedings from midfield.

The three-day tournament will see 68 of the top players in Irish schools line out from all corners of the country as they compete for their province and possibly make the cut for international assessment next month.

The tournament will be the first step in the process of selecting the FAI Schools International squad of 18 players who will compete in the Bob Docherty Cup. The 2022/23 campaign will see the Republic of Ireland Schools select travel to Glasgow . The international campaign will take place during the Easter Break from April 2th to 7th, 2023.

The Connacht squad also includes Lesley Ann Sweeney from Coláiste Muire, Ballymote, while Tessa Mullins from Holy Rosary College, Mountbellew, is part of the management team.
