A number of county and club team-mates from County Roscommon will be facing each other in the quarter-finals of this year’s Sigerson Cup.
Conor Carroll (Oranmore-Maree), Darragh Heneghan (Michael Glaveys) and Paul McGrath (St. Brigid’s) are part of the University of Galway squad that will face University of Limerick who have Cian Glennon in their ranks.
Carroll, Heneghan and Glennon were part of the Roscommon U-20 football squad that reached the 2021 All-Ireland final.
In the other last eight clash next Tuesday, DCU, with Tomás Crean from Creggs and Luke Glennon from Boyle, will face MTU Cork at 7 p.m..
The action on Wednesday next (February 1st) will see St. Brigid’s team-mates Shane Cunnane, Ben O’Carroll and Ciarán Sugrue going up against each other.
Cunnane is part of the TU Dublin side that have been drawn against UCD which feature Ben O’Carroll and Ciarán Sugrue, also from the Kiltoom-based club. Boyle duo Daire Cregg and Cathal Feely are also part of the UCD panel.
St. Mary’s and UCC will meet in the last quarter-final, also on Wednesday, at a neutral venue.
