The Coláiste Chiaráin Cadette girls’ volleyball team that won this afternoon’s All-Ireland final.

 

There are great celebrations in a County Roscommon secondary school this afternoon after its Cadette girls’ volleyball team claimed the school’s maiden All-Ireland title in the sport.

In the all-Roscommon final at the NUIG Kingfisher Sports Centre, Galway, Coláiste Chiaráin defeated Scoil Mhuire, Strokestown, 25-14, 25-19 to win the All-Ireland Girls’ Cadette C final.

Coláiste Chiaráin posted victories against St. Mary’s Holy Faith, Glasnevin, and Our Lady’s Bower, Athlone, to reach the final.

It is the school’s first-ever year in the competition.
