One of Roscommon’s top county and club hurlers has transferred to a club in Dublin.
Daniel Glynn has been one of Padraig Pearses’ key players in recent years, but it has been confirmed that the talented player transferred to Ballyboden St. Enda’s in Dublin earlier this month on January 19th.
Glynn’s departure represents a massive blow to the Woodmount-based club’s prospects in 2023. In 2017, when Pearses won their first Roscommon Senior Hurling Championship in 30 years, Glynn contributed 0-15 in the 1-20 to 1-13 victory against Four Roads in the decider.
Then, in 2020, Glynn went one better, contributing 0-16 during Pearses’ 2-22 to 1-18 victory against Athleague in a final that required extra time.
Glynn will be part of the Roscommon senior hurling panel for the upcoming season, but he is not expected to be involved in the team’s upcoming Division 3A League campaign.
