Transport Infrastructure Ireland is advising motorists of significant delays in County Roscommon following an overnight collision.
In the early hours of this morning Saturday, January 28th a collision involving a truck occurred on the M6 section of motorway near Athlone.
Both lanes going westbound between Junction 13 Athlone-Monksland and Junction 14 Shannonbridge are currently closed to traffic.
Gardai are warning motorists of very heavy traffic while the road remains closed to facilitate the recovery of the vehicle.
Diversions are in place.
