One of the county’s most reliable and marquee forwards of recent vintage celebrated his 100th appearance for Roscommon in style this afternoon.
Donie Smith was introduced to the fray during the second half of the famous 3-11 to 1-12 victory against Tyrone at Dr. Hyde Park.
Donie, who captained the Rossies in 2022, was top scorer for his side during last year’s successful Division Two campaign, which procured honours against Galway at Croke Park.
This afternoon’s victory against Tyrone was only Roscommon’s third victory in Division One since 2017.
Not a bad way for the popular Boyle and Roscommon player to mark his 100th appearance.
Congratulations to Donie Smith who comes on to replace Diarmuid Murtagh to make his 100th senior appearance for Roscommon today. 👏#RosGAA pic.twitter.com/ECPtsx4UEe
