Work is continuing on the N5 outside Tulsk to remove a lorry and its contents following a road traffic collision on Wednesday evening.
The main N5 between Tulsk and the turn off for Elphin near Ballinagare remains closed while workers remove the load from the overturned lorry.
Gardai in Castlerea have confirmed to the Roscommon Herald that work continues on removing the contents of the overturned lorry, which the Roscommon Herald understands to be orange juice. When this has been completed the lorry will then be removed.
Gardai are expecting that the work will take several hours and are advising motorists to avoid the area and take alternative routes.
Diversions are in place from the Elphin turn off near Ballinagare and at Tulsk.
The road was closed on Wednesday evening when a collision occurred between the lorry and a vehicle shortly after 7 p.m.. Emergency services attended the scene. No injuries were reported.
