Roscommon County Council’s dog warden will be carrying out dog licence inspections in March, the local authority has said.

On social media, the council highlighted that the dog warden will be checking licences in Castlerea and the surrounding areas between March 1st and 31st.

“A dog licence can be bought at the post office or via www.licences.ie,” the council said.

One annual dog licence costs €20, while a lifetime dog licence costs €140.

The council has warned that the fine is €100 for each un-licenced dog.
