Two units of the fire service attended a house fire in the Castlerea area of County Roscommon on Monday morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the fire at a private property at 10.22 a.m..

Roscommon Fire Service has confirmed that the home was gutted in the blaze.

A statement from Roscommon Fire Service said that two units of the fire brigade attended at the property, one from Ballaghaderreen and one from Ballyhaunis.  The first fire unit was on the scene within 12 minutes.

According to the fire service, the occupants of the house were not in the property at the time.
