The late Mr Donal Haughey.
Fr Eugene McLoughlin told mourners at today’s Funeral Mass of Roscommon businessman Donal Haughey that “his death shakes us all to the core”.
Fr McLoughlin, one of the co-celebrants at the Mass in the Church of the Assumption, Castlecoote, said: “We thank God for Donal’s life, his goodness, his generosity and love…his sudden death shakes us all to the core and it makes us aware of how fragile life is and we all are.”
Mr Haughey, a qualified engineer from Correal, Athleague, set up his own business, Roscommon Windows, in 2012. His business went from strength to strength and only last October, he won the Self-Employed Enterprise Award at the 2022 Roscommon Leader Partnership Awards in Kilbride Community Centre.
Beloved son of Margaret and the late Noel and brother of Olive, John, Padraig, Mary and Bernard, he will be very sadly missed by his family, aunt, Elizabeth, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, work colleagues at Roscommon Windows, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
Following Mass of the Resurrection, burial took place afterwards in Athleague Cemetery. Chief celebrant of today’s Mass was Fr. Christopher Edebianga.
