One of Roscommon’s most promising young GAA stars has been awarded Senior Player of the Year in his secondary school.

Bobby Nugent of St. Brigid’s GAA Club received the award from Marist College, Athlone, after a stellar season in which he was the team’s captain and top scorer with 5-60.

Bobby, who also lined out for the Roscommon U-20 footballers this season, received the John Parker award for his “outstanding contribution to Marist GAA.”

In recognising Bobby’s achievements, the school posted a “highlights reel”, which included some of the superb scores he kicked for Marist during the season.
