Dublin defender Jack McCaffrey has been ruled out of Sunday’s opening game of Group 3 in the All-Ireland SFC against Roscommon.
McCaffrey, who has returned to the Dublin panel alongside Paul Mannion and Stephen Cluxton this season, limped out of the Leinster final with a hamstring injury against Louth and hasn’t made the match-day 26 for the game in Croke Park.
Dessie Farrell has still named a formidable starting 15, with custodian Cluxton remaining in goal. James McCarthy, John Small and Lee Gannon make up a dynamic half-back line, while Brian Fenton is partnered by Tom Lahiff in the middle of the field.
There’s plenty of firepower up front too in the form of Ciarán Kilkenny, Paul Mannion, Con O’Callaghan and Cormac Costello, with Dean Rock and Niall Scully kept in reserve.
Sunday’s game in Croke Park throws in at 4 p.m..
