Tornado in Leitrim Village: The aftermath in pictures

Photographer Gerry Faughnan was on the scene in Leitrim Village to capture the destruction caused by a tornado which hit the village shortly before 1 p.m. this afternoon.

Following the damage, Leitrim County Council has advised members of the public that the main road through Leitrim Village is currently closed off for safety reasons and will remain closed overnight.

Emergency services are still at the scene in the village dealing with the aftermath of the tornado that caused substantial damage.
