Roscommon boxer Aoife O’Rourke will be facing a Turkish opponent in her semi-final bout tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) at the European Elite Boxing Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.
The Termon native will be fighting Isildar Busra for at least a silver medal and a place in the final on Saturday.
The Turkish boxer defeated Jessica Galizia of Italy 5-0 in her quarter-final.
In her last eight bout on Tuesday, O’Rourke, the defending European champion at 75kg, comprehensively defeated Veronika Nakota from Hungary 5-0.
